Terms of Use

Last updated: 31 March 2026 · Effective: 31 March 2026

Plain-language summary: QR Share Me helps you connect with people by sharing QR codes that link to your platforms and content. The free version stores everything in your browser — we don't hold any of your data. If you upgrade, we store your data securely so it works across devices. Don't use it for anything illegal, and we're good.

1. What QR Share Me Is

QR Share Me ("the Service") is a web application that helps people who meet in person connect digitally — by creating personalised QR codes that link to your social profiles, content, and contact information. It is provided by Orcasci Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 07387280), with its registered office at 27/28 Eastcastle Street, London, W1W 8DH, United Kingdom.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

QR Share Me, the QR Share Me logo, and related marks are trademarks of Orcasci Ltd. You may not use our branding without prior written permission.

2. How the Service Works

QR Share Me has two tiers:

Free tier

Upgraded (paid) tier

3. Your Account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

If you upgrade to a paid account:

Even if you use the free tier without an account, these terms still apply. If we have reason to believe you are using the Service in violation of these terms — including creating QR codes that link to illegal, harmful, or dangerous content — we reserve the right to restrict your access to the Service, including blocking your ability to generate new QR codes or access our servers and APIs.

4. Your Content and Our Role

The QR codes you create — including their labels, URLs, and styling — belong to you. We claim no ownership of your content.

If you use cloud sync, you grant us a limited licence to store and transmit your QR code data solely to provide the Service to you. This licence ends when your data is deleted — whether by you voluntarily, or by us following account suspension or termination under these terms.

What happens if we suspend or terminate your account

If we suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms:

We are not liable for any loss resulting from the suspension or termination of your account for breach of these terms.

Our role: platform, not publisher

QR Share Me is a technical platform. We do not select, review, or endorse the URLs you link to or the content behind them — you are solely responsible for that content and its legality. We have no obligation to monitor what you link to, but we reserve the right to act when we become aware of violations.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use QR Share Me to:

We reserve the right to remove content, disable short links, restrict access to the Service, or suspend accounts that violate these rules. If we become aware of content that may pose a risk to public safety, we may report it to the relevant authorities.

6. Scan Analytics

If you are an upgraded user and you enable scan tracking for a QR code, the Service records aggregate data when someone scans it — total scan count, device type, country, and daily trends. Full details of what is and isn't collected are in our Privacy Policy.

Raw scan data is retained for 90 days, after which it is aggregated (counts only) and individual records are deleted. Aggregated analytics are retained for as long as the associated short link or your account exists.

You are responsible for your use of scan analytics. If you distribute tracked QR codes in a context where people expect privacy (such as within a company or school), you should inform them that scans are counted in aggregate.

7. Third-Party Links and Destination Content

QR codes created with QR Share Me link to URLs chosen entirely by the person who created the QR code. We do not select, vet, approve, or control those destination URLs or the content behind them.

For people who scan QR codes: If you scan a QR code made with QR Share Me and are directed to a website or content you find objectionable, illegal, or harmful — that content was chosen by the QR code's creator, not by us. QR Share Me is a tool for generating QR codes; we are not responsible for where they point. If you believe a QR code is being used for illegal purposes, you may report it to us at legal@qrshareme.com.

For QR code creators: You are solely responsible for the URLs you link to and any consequences of sharing those links. We accept no liability for claims arising from the content of your destination URLs.

When you add a URL, our server may visit that page once to retrieve its title and image for display on your card. On the free tier, this metadata is delivered to your browser and not stored on our servers. On the upgraded tier, this metadata may be stored as part of your synced QR code data.

8. Payments and Subscriptions

Pricing, billing terms, and subscription details for the upgraded tier will be published separately when the paid tier launches. By upgrading, you agree to the payment terms in effect at the time of purchase.

Subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you cancel within 14 days of first subscribing and have not used the upgraded features materially, you may request a full refund by contacting legal@qrshareme.com.

If you cancel your subscription, you retain access to upgraded features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier. We will notify you that your cloud-synced data is scheduled for deletion. Your data may be retained for up to ninety days to allow you to export or resubscribe, after which it will be permanently deleted. We are under no obligation to retain your cloud data beyond this period.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep QR Share Me available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, update, or temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, security, or improvement purposes.

In the free tier, your QR codes live in your browser and remain available regardless of our server status.

We may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice. If we do, upgraded users will be given at least 30 days to export their data.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages, or expenses arising from: (a) content you create or link to using the Service; (b) your violation of these terms; or (c) your violation of any third party's rights.

This indemnification obligation does not apply to the extent prohibited by mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction, including the EU Unfair Contract Terms Directive (93/13/EEC) and implementing national legislation. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, this clause applies only to the extent that your actions constitute wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

Continued use of the Service after you have been notified of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@qrshareme.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, this does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

14. Survival

The following provisions survive termination of your account or these Terms: Section 4 (Your Content and Our Role), Section 7 (Third-Party Links and Destination Content), Section 10 (Limitation of Liability), Section 11 (Indemnification), Section 13 (Governing Law and Disputes), and this Section.

15. General

Severability. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to do so later.

Assignment. We may assign or transfer these Terms, and any rights or obligations under them, to any third party (for example, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets) without your consent. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent.

Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms where caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet outages, government actions, or pandemics.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Orcasci Ltd regarding the Service.
